Snowman Trek – is a rather long 23 day trek, taking one all the way to the remote district of Lunana. It is considered one of the most difficult treks in the world. The apt season for this trek is mid-June to mid-October. The classic Snowman Trek begins in Paro and follows the Jhomolhari and Laya- Gasa Treks as far as Laya. One has the option of shortening the trek by starting at Punakha and trekking north up the Mo chu, following the Laya- Gasa trek in reverse. The classic trek, starts from the Drugyal Dzong and covers Lingzhi, Laya, Rodophu near the Lunana trail junction, Narethang, Tarina, Woche, Lhedi, Thanza, Tshochena, Jichu Dramo, Chukarpo, Tshampe Tsho, Maurothong and Sephu. At Bey and Jichu Dramo one has to cross the 5, 140 meter high Rincheu Zoe La.
