Bumthang Cultural Trek – is an extremely popular trek affording excellent opportunities of visiting several villages and Lhakhangs in Central Bhutan. This is the best option for the average trekker since the altitude does not exceed 3, 400 meters. The trek passes through several villages, providing plentiful opportunities of witnessing life in rural Bhutan. En route, one can visit Toktu Zampa, Lhakhang, Tahung and Mesithang. The best time for the trek is from March to may and again from September to November. Soon after passing through Kurjey Lhakhang one reaches Duer chu one can see the carved Buddha on a rock.
